Job description

Position Summary

This is a remote, customer-facing position. Candidates must be based in New York to support and service customers in this territory.

What You Will Do As A Repair Technician:
  • Perform basic to intermediate repairs of surgical instruments, including ultrasonic function, metallurgy, buffing, polishing, bending, shaping, sharpening, hinge points, serrations, and brazing.
  • Demonstrate quality performance in advanced skills such as Dremel operation, re-cup and re-jaw, and laparoscopic inspection.
  • Provide invoicing and documentation as needed.
  • Work mainly inside a mobile repair truck, with frequent hospital visits.
  • Support various locations within the territory based on service agreements and customer needs.
  • Follow all safety, health, and operational protocols, including PPE usage and safety checks.
Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of work experience, including 1 year of relevant experience, or 1 year at STERIS. All experience must be verifiable.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push instrument carts weighing 10-150 pounds.
  • Flexibility for early/late hours, nights, and weekends based on needs.
  • Minimum age of 21, with ability to meet FMCSA and driver’s license requirements.
  • Ability to pass DOT medical exam and comply with DOT regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; maintain required vaccines.

*Related certifications or military experience may be considered towards experience requirements.

Relevant Work Experience Includes:

Hands-on repair, assembly, or testing with small tools; small engine repair, electronics, carpentry, circuit boards, sterile processing, automotive repair, etc.
