Job summary

The Solar Tech I at System One in Wynne, AR oversees the advanced operation, maintenance, and repair of solar and BESS assets, ensuring maximum asset availability and performance. This role handles preventive and corrective maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and SCADA diagnostics with minimal oversight.

You will mentor Associate and Technician II staff, contribute to site reliability, safety culture, and continuous improvement initiatives, and work onsite to support critical energy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant technical experience in renewable energy.
• Certification/licensing pref: NABCEP or Electrical License.
• Ability to travel to job sites as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Safely install, operate, maintain, and repair solar PV systems and inverters to ensure optimal performance.
• Lead and perform solar operations and maintenance activities with site procedures and LOTO practices.
• Demonstrate proactive safety leadership and coaching on safe work practices.
• Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements and regulations.
• Independently troubleshoot and repair solar PV infrastructure including modules and electrical components.
• Analyze SCADA data, alarms, and measurements to diagnose issues and implement solutions.
• Coordinate with engineers, OEMs, and vendors to resolve system-level issues.
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance, estimating labor and materials.
• Lead inspections, testing, and commissioning to verify performance.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation including CMMS entries and reports.
• Mentor junior team members with hands-on instruction and safety coaching.
