Job summary

System One is seeking a Solar Tech II in Morris, Illinois, to install, operate, maintain, and repair solar systems, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. The role requires diagnosing issues, collaborating with the team, and contributing to ongoing improvements.

The position offers onsite work, a 40-hour week, and a competitive compensation package ranging from $67,644 to $91,515 per year. A valid driver's license and relevant electrical experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must have field experience in maintenance electrician work or similar.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely following site procedures and NEC knowledge.
• Experience with solar operations and maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Test, maintain, and troubleshoot solar PV electrical and mechanical equipment
• Ensure all tasks are performed safely and by site procedures
• Complete LOTO, JSA’s, Permit to Work, and required documentation
• Proactively seek improvement opportunities in processes and procedures
• Perform data collection and prepare reports to meet requirements
• Monitor balance of plant and switchyard work as needed
• Perform electrical testing including insulation and thermal tests
• Document all work and generate reports
• Interface with third-party contractors and vendors
• Respond to emergencies or urgent troubleshooting situations
• Operate mobile equipment (mowers, forklifts, tractors, etc.)
• Represent the company professionally in contractor partnerships
