Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation seeks a Solar Survey Party Chief to ensure survey resources with the right expertise and tools for assigned construction projects. You will allocate resources and coordinate with the Construction Operations Manager to drive construction execution per policies and contracts.

You will lead safety initiatives, manage survey data integrity, and work across teams to deliver accurate survey results, using AutoCAD, Leica, Topcon, and Trimble tools in a dynamic project

Qualifications

• 5+ years in industrial construction with layout or survey.
• Ability to use AutoCAD to overlay designs and troubleshoot discrepancies.
• Experience coordinating with suppliers, contractors, and clients.
• Ability to train personnel and lead surveying activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform principal duties of craft workers under supervision.
• Read L1 Schedule and drawings.
• Create models in Leica, Topcon, Trimble.
• Become Drone Certified for TOPO.
• Verify the accuracy of survey data.
• Calculate heights, depths, and positions.
• Prepare sketches, maps, and reports; describe and certify work.
• Use AutoCAD to prepare data, charts, plots, maps and documents.
• Coordinate findings with engineers, clients, and others.
• Establish fixed points for maps; use geodetic instruments.
• Train Instrumentmen, Rodman, and helpers; direct surveying work.
• Adjust surveying instruments to maintain accuracy.
• Lead ground surveys and site calibration/localization.
• Lead safety processes to achieve zero injuries.
