Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Traveling Survey Party Chief to ensure survey resources and tools align with construction project execution. You will allocate crew, verify data accuracy, and coordinate with Operations Managers to meet contractual commitments on projects across power, water, and industrial markets.

Role emphasizes hands-on use of surveying instruments, GPS, and mapping software, with safety as a core priority.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial construction field with layout or survey responsibilities.
• Able to read and interpret survey data and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Be able to perform all principal duties and accountabilities of craft workers under supervision.
• Utilize Google Earth, BlueBeam Revu, Agtek for surveying tasks.
• Read L1 Schedule and drawings; create models in Leica, Topcon, Trimble.
• Become Drone Certified for TOPO.
• Verify accuracy of survey data at sites; compute elevations and coordinates.
• Coordinate findings with engineering, clients and other stakeholders.
• Lead safety processes and ensure zero injuries on site.
