Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Solar Survey Party Chief to ensure availability of survey resources and expertise to support construction projects. You will coordinate resource allocation and communicate with the Construction Operations Manager to guide execution according to policies and contracts.

This role requires 5+ years of survey experience in industrial construction, proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and equipment such as Leica/Topcon/Trimble.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in the industrial construction field with layout or survey responsibilities, with some supervision experience.
• Must have knowledge of mathematics to solve problems and verify calculations.
• Ability to analyze physical survey data.
• Proficient with AutoCAD for overlaying designs.
• Experience with Bluebeam PDFs.
• Coordinate activities with suppliers, contractors, clients, or other departments.
• Direct surveying activities and train personnel on procedures.
• Calculate geographic positions from survey data.

Responsibilities

• Be able to perform all principal duties and accountabilities of craft workers under supervision.
• Utilize Google Earth, BlueBeam Revu, AgTek.
• Read and understand L1 Schedule and drawings.
• Create models in Leica, Topcon, Trimble.
• Become Drone Certified for TOPO.
• Verify accuracy of survey data and calculations at sites.
• Prepare sketches, maps, and reports describing surveys.
• Use AutoCAD to prepare survey-related charts and maps.
• Train instrumentmen, rodmen, and helpers; direct surveying activities.
