Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking a Traveling Survey Party Chief in Carrollton, GA to ensure availability of survey resources and oversee execution. The role requires leadership in resource allocation and communication with the Construction Operations Manager to meet contractual commitments.

Responsibilities include model creation with Leica/Topcon/Trimble, GPS setup, and coordinating with engineering teams. This is an employee-owned culture emphasizing safety and hands-on field experience.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in the industrial construction field with layout or survey responsibilities.
• Must have working knowledge of using mathematics to solve problems and verify calculations, and to document technical design details.
• Must be able to use tape measure and calculate decimals of a foot.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Be able to perform all principal duties and accountabilities of craft workers under supervision.
• Read and understand L1 Schedule and drawings.
• Create models in Leica, Topcon, Trimble.
• Verify the accuracy of survey data at sites.
• Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, and reports.
• Utilize AutoCAD to prepare data, charts, plots, and maps.
• Coordinate findings with engineers, clients, and others.
• Establish fixed points for use in maps.
