Job summary

Silfab Solar Inc. is seeking a Stringer Operator for our Fort Mill, SC facility to safely and efficiently run the stringer machine, ensuring product quality and maximum uptime on 12-hour rotating shifts.

You will monitor HMIs, perform preventive and autonomous maintenance, document production data, and collaborate with maintenance and engineering to implement improvements while following safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certificate preferred.
• ≥2 years of production experience in an autonomous manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience operating HMI-controlled equipment, NC machinery, and performing preventive/autonomous maintenance.
• Familiarity with basic mechanical, pneumatic, or electrical systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate stringer machinery safely and monitor throughput.
• Load materials and inspect solar cells for quality against standards.
• Use HMIs and NC interfaces for control, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Perform preventive maintenance and autonomous maintenance tasks (cleaning, lubrication, inspection).
• Troubleshoot basic machine faults to minimize downtime and report issues.
• Record hourly production and performance data, reporting deviations.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering and quality teams to implement improvements.
• Follow safety, quality, and operational procedures; maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Support training of new operators on stringer operation and maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned by Lead Hand and Supervisor.
