Job summary

DEPCOM Power is seeking a Civil Estimator to develop accurate estimates for solar and battery energy storage projects. The role collaborates with business development, engineering, and project teams to align estimates with execution strategies.

Ideal candidates have experience in heavy civil estimating and prefer familiarity with InEight and takeoff tools. Remote work within the U.S. is possible; visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy civil construction, estimating, construction management, and/or project management.
• Knowledge of cost estimating practices and estimating software such as InEight or similar platforms.
• Experience using takeoff software such as Bluebeam, AgTek, or similar tools.
• Understanding of earthwork, foundations, roads, drainage, and site development activities.
• Experience preparing or supporting project estimates for construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Support refinement of civil estimating processes and templates to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop detailed civil cost estimates for solar and BESS projects.
• Maintain estimating tools, historical cost data, and productivity assumptions.
• Prepare project cost estimates aligned with RFP requirements for utility-scale projects.
• Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate project opportunities and optimize costs.
• Identify project risks and support mitigation strategies.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, client discussions, and estimate reviews.
• Conduct site visits and document findings to improve estimate quality.
