Job summary

DEPCOM Power, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking an Estimator Intern for Summer 2027 in Scottsdale, AZ. You will assist with developing and reviewing project cost estimates for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects, working alongside experienced estimators and cross-functional teams.

This internship offers hands-on experience in estimating tools, data libraries, and bid development, with site visits to observe cost drivers and learn construction means and methods.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree or alternative program in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and reviewing project cost estimates for solar and battery storage projects
• Support the creation and maintenance of estimating tools, templates, and cost databases
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, business development, and project teams to gather project inputs
• Help analyze project scope, quantities, and assumptions to support accurate estimates
• Support identification of project risks and contribute to mitigation discussions
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, team discussions, and project reviews
• Assist in preparing documentation and reports to support estimating activities
• Gain exposure to construction means and methods, productivity assumptions, and resource planning
• Opportunity to participate in site visits to better understand project execution and cost drivers
