Job summary

621 Energy is seeking a Project Engineer to drive technical implementation of solar PV projects for commercial and nonprofit clients. The role focuses on design, construction, commissioning, and interconnection across multiple projects with strong collaboration among stakeholders.

The position is based in West Concord, MA, offering a hybrid work arrangement. Candidates should have solar PV design experience, NEC knowledge, and strong problem-solving abilities with a customer-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• One year minimum Solar PV design experience.
• Proficient in technical knowledge of solar PV design, building codes and NEC.
• Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
• Hands-on field troubleshooting and installation assistance.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Attention to detail and problem solving.
• Customer service oriented internally and externally.
• Collaborative and mentoring mindset, team player.

Responsibilities

• Perform site visits for project feasibility and assist with site layouts and energy production modelling.
• Conduct onsite assessments and develop solar designs including equipment layouts, site plans, structural drawings, NEC-compliant calculations and electrical schematics.
• Produce construction document sets, BOMs, equipment specifications, and drawings for construction and as-built documentation.
• Support utility interconnection and permitting processes.
• Provide start-up, commissioning and troubleshooting of new and existing systems.
• Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, contractors and coworkers.
• Ensure design and technical implementation meet scope, budget and client expectations.
• Assist in safety, quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction improvements.
