Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Solar Master Technician in Massachusetts to perform safe, productive repairs and maintenance of Commercial and Utility Scale Solar PV plants. You will conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to maximize production across trackers, inverters, transformers, and related equipment.

The role requires a Master Electrician license, familiarity with electrical systems, and ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with electrical systems and components.
• Proficiency in using power tools for repair tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Master Electrician license required.
• Working knowledge and experience operating under OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E, and 70B.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certificate.

Responsibilities

• Uphold high safety standards in all tasks.
• Perform preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities.
• Learn NEC code, electrical theory, and industry best practices.
• DC/AC testing including polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding, insulation, I-V curves.
• Interpret schematics to understand layouts and connections.
• Maintain a schedule for routine maintenance across equipment.
• Maintain company assets, tools, meters, and stock.
• Maintain service reports and safety paperwork, spare parts inventory.
• Provide maintenance and troubleshooting training to technicians.
• Identify safety hazards and address them promptly.
