Job summary

MasTec, Inc. is seeking a Solar Installer to assemble, install and maintain solar PV systems on rooftops or structures in accordance with site assessments and schematics.

You will lay out, install, seal, and connect modules, wiring, and supports while following safety policies and project drawings. The role requires hands-on use of hand and power tools, the ability to read plans, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a Solar Installer or equivalent in construction
• Understanding of PV construction and installation
• Ability to read plans and specifications
• Must be at least 18 years old

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Use hand and power tools to install PV systems according to drawings and instructions
• Lay-out, assemble and install solar modules and support structures
• Apply weather sealing to arrays and supports
• Identify and resolve deficiencies in PV system installation or materials
• Install labels on system components
• Determine materials and sequences to maximize installation efficiency
• Install active solar systems and verify system functionality
• Coordinate work with other crafts and co-workers on the job
• Provide on-the-job training to helpers and laborers
• Produce quality work meeting plans, specs and industry standards
