Job summary

Montante Solar is seeking a Business Development Director to expand the company’s distributed solar and energy storage pipeline. You will lead development of strategic partnerships, manage a robust opportunities pipeline, and drive entry into targeted markets including NY, PA, and IL.

The role emphasizes relationship management, market intelligence, and collaboration with internal teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences and repeat EPC, development, and O&M opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sustainability, environmental studies, engineering, construction management, real estate, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in B2B business development, sales, client relationship management, account management, project development, or related field.
• Experience in solar energy, energy storage, renewable energy, utilities, engineering, construction, infrastructure development, or related industry.
• Knowledge of distributed generation markets, utility interconnection processes, incentive programs, and project economics.
• Experience developing commercial or public-sector client relationships.
• CRM and proposal writing experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and expand relationships with IPPs, solar and energy storage developers, asset owners, investors, and other strategic partners.
• Position Montante Solar as a preferred EPC and long-term partner to developers and IPPs in New York and growth markets.
• Own and manage an active pipeline of qualified opportunities with forecasting and next-step accountability.
• Lead prospect engagement from initial contact through contract execution.
• Coordinate internal resources to advance opportunities and ensure exceptional customer experience.
• Travel throughout New York and neighboring states as needed.
