Job summary

ACT Power Services, LLC is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician to join our field team in Edwardsville, IL. You will support preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on solar arrays and related equipment at customer sites, gaining field skills and safety competency under supervision.

The role requires travel up to ~20%, on-call duties, and the ability to work outdoors in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of field experience in solar, electrical, or related technical trade.
• QEW sign-off, or ability to obtain within onboarding period.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification, or ability to obtain within first 90 days.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, including identification of fuses, breakers, switches, power sources, and major BoS equipment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
• Valid Driver's License; travel around 20% and on-call during off-shift hours and weekends as needed.
• FAA Part 107 certification, a Technical Writing course, and ACT High Voltage/Medium Voltage training completed or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in everything you do.
• Assist in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities, including inverter maintenance and repairs.
• Perform string-level troubleshooting, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance support.
• Conduct monthly vegetation and site equipment inspections.
• Log data, safety paperwork, and spare parts inventory; use Fiix, TrueContext, Deputy, and ACT SharePoint.
• Maintain vehicle inspections and support warranty claims as needed.
• Maintain company property, tools, meters, and stock.
• Participate in Good Catch Program and safety observations.
• Attend training in maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical writing as assigned.
