Job summary

ACT Power Services seeks a Solar Field Service Technician to support field operations at solar PV facilities. You will assist in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while ensuring safety and compliance.

This on-site role requires travel and on-call availability to support multiple sites. You will work under supervision, logging data, coordinating with vendors, and maintaining equipment across inverters, trackers, and MV gear.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of field experience in solar or electrical trades.
• QEW sign-off, or ability to obtain during onboarding.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification, or within 90 days.
• Ability to read drawings and identify fuses, breakers, power sources, and major BoS equipment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Willingness to travel ~20% and be on-call.
• FAA Part 107 certification or related training in progress.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in all tasks.
• Assist in preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities.
• Perform string-level troubleshooting, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance support.
• Conduct vegetation and site equipment inspections, including monthly checks.
• Clean or replace damaged components as directed.
• Apply NEC code knowledge and safety practices; pursue education as assigned.
• Perform basic electrical testing under supervision.
• Dispatch and remediation on repairs under 50V.
• Maintain company property and stock; log data in systems.
• Log vehicle inspections and complete notes on time.
• Initiate warranty claims with vendors/OEMs as needed.
• Identify hazards and take corrective action to remove them.
• Conduct pre-job brief analyses and safety trainings.
• Participate in Good Catch and BBSO observations.
• Attend trainings on maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical writing.
