Job summary

Power Electronics seeks a Field Services Technician to support solar inverter systems and associated electrical equipment across the United States. You will start-up, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment at PV plants, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

You will travel as needed, provide timely field reports, and assist with on-site commissioning and warranty procedures. A valid electrician license or degree in electrical engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• Journeyman or Master’s Electrician license; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronics engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum 2–3 years in field service, commissioning, or maintenance of industrial electrical equipment.
• Experience with solar inverters, MV equipment, and power electronics desirable.
• OSHA/NFPA 70E safety certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up and commissioning of solar inverters at photovoltaic plants.
• Diagnose and repair inverter faults in the field.
• Replace components such as MV transformers, switchgear, electronic boards, AC/DC fuses, fans, and filters.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance and updates (software/hardware).
• Submit accurate daily field reports detailing work performed and time spent.
• Provide technical assistance and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Travel across the U.S. and be available for 24/7 service coverage when needed.
