Job summary

Power Electronics, a global leader in renewable energy solutions, is seeking a Field Services Technician to ensure optimal performance of utility-scale solar and battery inverter systems. You will perform startup, commissioning, configuration, and in-field fault repair at PV plants across the U.S.

The role requires a Journeyman or Master Electrician license, 2–3 years of field service experience, and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

• Journeyman or Master Electrician license required.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronics engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years in field service, commissioning, or maintenance of industrial electrical equipment.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and components.
• Experience with solar inverters (desirable), MV equipment, and power electronics.
• OSHA, NFPA 70E, or similar safety certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up and commissioning of solar inverters at photovoltaic plants.
• Ensure systems are configured and operating according to specifications.
• Diagnose and repair inverter faults in the field.
• Replace components such as MV transformers, switchgear, electronic boards, AC/DC fuses, fans, and filters.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance and updates (software/hardware).
• Submit accurate daily field reports detailing work performed and time spent.
• Provide technical assistance and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain and care for company property including vehicle, tools, devices, and PPE.
• Travel across the U.S. for operations and emergency support when needed.
