Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC seeks a Solar Farm Technician Associate to support safe operation, maintenance, and repair of solar PV systems at a California site. The role performs routine maintenance and assists with troubleshooting under supervision, while developing technical skills.

You will work with solar equipment, follow safety procedures, and use SAP/SCADA tools to document activities and monitor performance. On-call may be required, with a strong focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certificate or Associate’s degree in renewable energy technology or related field preferred.
• Minimum 1+ years of renewable energy installation or maintenance experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of solar PV systems and basic electrical infrastructure.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform solar operations and maintenance safely by following site procedures and lockout/tagout.
• Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of solar PV components under supervision.
• Inspect equipment using checklists and basic diagnostic tools to identify faults.
• Troubleshoot solar PV issues by interpreting alarms and monitoring data.
• Document maintenance activities in SAP and support maintenance planning.
• Monitor system performance using SCADA and report data for analysis.
