Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC seeks a Solar Farm Technician II to safely install, operate, and maintain solar farms, diagnosing and resolving issues to maximize uptime and compliance. You will work with a skilled team, applying rigorous safety practices and leveraging SCADA data for performance improvements.

In this role you will lead maintenance activities, coordinate with engineers, and mentor junior technicians while meeting on-call responsibilities and travel expectations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree or certification in renewable energy technology or electrical systems preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant technical experience in renewable energy preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying weather conditions.
• Strong working knowledge of solar PV systems, including inverters, trackers, combiner boxes, LBDs and SCADA systems.
• Independently perform preventive and corrective maintenance with minimal supervision.
• Toubleshoot and resolve moderate technical issues, including inverter and performance faults.

Responsibilities

• Leads and performs solar operations and maintenance activities safely by applying site procedures and lockout/tagout.
• Implements proactive safety leadership by identifying hazards and coaching team members.
• Ensures compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements by interpreting regulations.
• Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs solar PV systems to ensure reliability.
• Analyzes SCADA data and alarms to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinates with Site Leads, Site Managers, and Engineers to resolve high-risk issues.
• Plans and executes preventive and corrective maintenance by prioritizing work orders.
• Leads inspections, testing, and commissioning to verify system performance.
• Maintains accurate SAP Work Orders and inspection findings for audits.
• Mentors Associate and Trainee technicians and provides safety coaching.
• Serves in an on-call capacity with rapid response requirements.
