Job summary

Moss is seeking a Solar Electrical Assistant Superintendent to coordinate and support on large utility solar projects across multiple states. You will work with Superintendents, contractors, and craft workers to ensure compliant electrical installations and timely execution.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, at least 2 years' MV experience, and are prepared for 100% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years' experience with medium voltage equipment and collection line construction.
• Experience supporting large self-perform projects.
• Proficiency in installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair of medium voltage cables.
• Knowledge of electrical drawings, underground ducts, SCADA, testing and commissioning.
• Current driver's license.
• 100% travel required with rotations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality installation of electrical portions of the project, including the underground electrical collections system.
• Support drawing reviews, constructability, submittal reviews, and feedback with the engineering team.
• Develop project schedules with supervision and 3-week look-ahead.
• Ensure work teams have the necessary resources and support.
• Help with quality control of self-performed and subcontracted work.
• Coordinate with power grid connection to distribution system.
• Supervise installation, splicing, and termination of fiber optic cables.
• Participate in project meetings and liaise between field engineers and crews.
• Review subcontractor procurement, methods, staffing, and look-aheads.
• Transmit plans, submittals and RFIs to subcontractors timely.
• Monitor safety, quality, and efficiency of subcontracted work.
• Coach and mentor field personnel and forepersons.
• Produce operation sequences and MOPs.
• Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring decisions.
