Job summary

First Solar, Inc. is seeking a Production Coater Technician I to begin the semiconductor coating process, safely operating coating equipment, and managing materials to manufacture high-quality photovoltaic solar modules.

The role includes basic quality checks, use of simple hand tools, and performing floor operations with coaching from leads. The position requires a High School diploma or GED, with preference for an associate degree or technical certificate and about 2+ years of manufacturing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical certs preferred.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience or equivalent.
• Experience in warehousing, textiles, agriculture, or material inspection is a plus.
• Military technical experience in electrical/mechanical/chemical fields is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates and maintains production tools and equipment.
• Completes training within required timeframe and trains teammates when needed.
• Maintains process data, alarms, and parameters to ensure quality.
• Interfaces with equipment computers and controls for monitoring.
• Performs basic preventative maintenance using hand tools and instrumentation.
• Works with cross-functional teams to run tests and resolve issues.
• Ensures inventory levels and proper waste disposal for the line.
• Adheres to safety procedures and conducts housekeeping.
