Job summary

First Solar, Inc. is seeking a Production Coater Technician I to begin the manufacturing process, including the coating of semiconductor materials for photovoltaic modules.

The role emphasizes safe operation of equipment, material handling, and basic quality checks in a high-volume production floor. Ideal candidates will have a HS diploma or GED, with a preference for a technical certificate or associate degree and 2+ years of manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certificate preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Internal candidates: 60 internal credits or equivalent plus supervisor endorsement and positive safety/performance ratings.
• Forklift certification may be required on request.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety procedures and maintains good housekeeping.
• Operates and maintains tools/equipment to meet quality and productivity targets.
• Completes required training on schedule and trains teammates as needed.
• Performs maintenance using hand tools and instrumentation.
• Operates forklift and crane with proper training/certification when required.
• Monitors process data and alarms; escalates issues per procedures.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams on problem solving and testing.
• Maintains inventory and ensures waste disposal per guidelines.
