Job summary

First Solar is seeking a Production Coater Technician I in Louisiana to begin the manufacturing process through coating photovoltaic modules. The role includes safe operation of equipment, material handling, and basic quality checks, with training on tasks after certification.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, with a preference for a technical certificate or associate degree, and at least 2 years of manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or technical certificate preferred.
• 2+ years manufacturing experience.
• Internal candidates must have 60 internal credits or equivalent training.
• External candidates with warehousing, textile, agriculture, or material inspection experience may qualify.
• Honorable military experience in relevant technical roles may count toward qualification.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety procedures and maintains good housekeeping.
• Operates tools and equipment to meet quality/productivity targets.
• Completes required training in time.
• Provides on-the-job training to team members when needed.
• Maintains equipment with hand tools and instrumentation.
• Operates forklift and crane with proper training (when required).
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams on testing and problem solving.
• Ensures accurate data reporting and inventory for next shift.
• Ensures waste is disposed of properly.
