Job summary

AES is seeking a PV O&M Solar Technician to operate and maintain utility-scale solar plants in California’s Central Valley and Kern County. You will perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance with a focus on safety and teamwork.

The role requires hands-on field work, strong electrical/mechanical fundamentals, and the ability to lead others as AES grows in the renewables sector. Expect travel, overtime, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Possess 2 year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualifications.
• Three (3) or more years’ experience as a PV O&M solar technician or Five (5) or more years’ experience in a power plant and one (1) or more years’ experience in PV Solar O&M or construction.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals (single craft journeyman skills).
• Basic knowledge of operational characteristics of equipment in power facilities.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for O&M activities for utility-scale solar plants in California’s Central Valley and Kern County.
• Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance safely and efficiently.
• Perform other technical and administrative duties related to operating and maintaining a power facility.
• Ensure work complies with Environmental and Safety requirements.
• Work independently and as part of a crew.
