Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a seasoned Software Systems Engineer to own the definition, integration, and verification of software systems for space operations. The role spans requirements, architecture, and interfaces across the full software lifecycle in a MBSE-driven environment.

You will collaborate with avionics, hardware, and software teams to ensure end-to-end system integration, while planning verification methods and supporting safety analyses in a fast-moving program focused on space station

Qualifications

• Experience authoring and managing software/system requirements (functional, performance, safety, interface).
• Experience maintaining bidirectional requirements traceability across lifecycle stages.
• Experience defining and managing interfaces (ICDs) and supporting integration activities.
• Experience planning/verifying activities (test, analysis, inspection, demonstration).
• Hands-on MBSE experience using SysML in an MBSE tool.

Responsibilities

• Author software and system requirements using a model-based approach.
• Maintain traceability from ConOps to software design and test.
• Lead requirements reviews and impact assessments.
• Define interfaces, ICDs, and timing budgets.
• Collaborate with avionics, network, FPGA, and hardware teams for integration.
• Plan and document verification methods and acceptance criteria.
• Support SIL/HIL integration activities and test readiness.
• Assist safety analyses and hazard evaluations.
