Job summary

RTX is seeking a software engineering intern for the Raytheon Fellowship Program in 2027. The role provides hands-on experience in infrastructure, DevOps, and cloud technologies with access to cross-disciplinary teams and modern tools.

Selected students must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree, complete required credits, and participate in a program that can lead to full-time opportunities. The program may offer signing bonuses and security clearances where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in an applicable discipline and actively enrolled through completion of the internship / co‑op session.
  • Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co‑op session.
  • Experience applying basic engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.

About the Raytheon Fellowship Program:

Seeking students in their sophomore or junior year or seniors if pursuing a master’s. Upon program acceptance, participants will be submitted for a national security clearance. Participants may be eligible to receive a $10,000 signing bonus, and an additional $10,000 signing bonus upon converting to full‑time employee status post‑graduation (payable within 60 days of employment and subject to all applicable withholdings). Participants will sign an offer agreement, committing to remain with Raytheon for a minimum of two years after becoming a full‑time employee.

  • Familiarity with Ansible and security engineering concepts.
  • Exposure to software and hardware subsystem integration.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle.

Relocation Eligible

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
