Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Software Engineer (Algorithm) to join the C2BMC program. You will generate software design artifacts, implement Java-based changes, and participate in design reviews and agile planning.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, a degree in CS/SE/Math, and experience with OO development, Unix/Linux, and developing mathematical algorithms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with 5 years experience; or Master's with 3 years; or 9 years experience in lieu.
• Active DoD-issued Secret security clearance required to start.
• Willingness to travel 10% of the time for business needs.
• Experience in full life-cycle development, Java application development or OO development, Unix/Linux, mathematical algorithms, Agile development, DevSecOps, and systems integration.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills and ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Generate software design artifacts and implement Java-based software changes.
• Support design and code reviews and software testing; resolve issues that arise during testing.
• Present developed designs and actively participate in agile planning and execution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Systems Engineering, Integration & Test, Deployment, and Warfighter Support to ensure mission success.
