Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Redmond, WA is seeking a software engineer to help design and operate the SDN control plane for a massive satellite constellation and global ground network.

You will work on routing, telemetry integration, and scalable network software to deliver high-throughput, low-latency connectivity while collaborating with ground control, cloud services, and customer terminals.

Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

Take responsibility for designing and delivering a modern, flexible, scalable, high throughput, low latency network architecture
Implement workflows to orchestrate on orbit payload activities
Implement highly-available software that will drive networking control plane operation on physical and virtual nodes
Define and automate processes used for software development, implementation, testing, and maintenance
Provide operational excellence for control plane services, to including enabling toolsand definition/refinement of operational processes
Diagnose routing and forwarding issues across the control plane, data plane, and physical topology.
Integrate telemetry, topology, link-state, and network-condition data into route computation and control systems.
Develop routing behavior for topology transitions, link changes, node movement, degraded links, and failures.
