Job summary

Amazon Leo in Redmond, WA is seeking a senior software engineer to join the SDN team building the control plane for a global satellite-terrestrial network. Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver a scalable, high-throughput network architecture.
• Implement workflows to orchestrate on orbit payload activities.
• Develop highly-available software that drives control plane operation on nodes.
• Define and automate processes for software development, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
• Provide operational excellence for control plane services, including tooling and processes.
• Diagnose routing and forwarding issues across control/data/physical layers.
• Integrate telemetry, topology, and network data into route computation.
• Develop routing behavior for topology transitions and failures.
