Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer for the SDN Controller on the LEO program in Redmond, WA. You will help design and implement the control plane for a global satellite-terrestrial network, delivering low latency, high-throughput networking services.

You will mentor teams, drive architecture decisions, and collaborate across hardware, cloud, and ground segments to ensure robust, scalable solutions for customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver a modern, flexible, scalable, high throughput, low latency network architecture.
• Implement workflows to orchestrate on orbit payload activities.
• Implement highly-available software that will drive networking control plane operation on physical and virtual nodes.
• Define and automate processes used for software development, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
• Provide operational excellence for control plane services, to including enabling tools and definition/refinement of operational processes.
• Diagnose routing and forwarding issues across the control plane, data plane, and physical topology.
• Integrate telemetry, topology, link-state, and network-condition data into route computation and control systems.
• Develop routing behavior for topology transitions, link changes, node movement, degraded links, and failures.
