Job summary

RTX is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and release software for the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software Department. The role requires onsite work, an eagerness to learn, and collaboration within a team to support radar and C2 programs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong software design foundation, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work 100% onsite in a safety-critical environment. U.S. citizenship and clearance suitability are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related STEM discipline.
  • Experience developing software with C, C++, Java, or Ada.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to the start date; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Work on an agile team responsible for developing and delivering software for one of the MDS Department’s programs.
  • Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time application software and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.
  • Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems.
  • Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.
  • Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.
