Attentive is hiring a Software Engineer II to build and improve distributed data applications that power our audience-segmentation platform. You will own features end-to-end from design to deployment and work with senior engineers and cross-functional teammates on sound design decisions.

This role deepens expertise in distributed systems, data pipelines, and real-time processing. You will contribute to high-impact systems handling billions of events daily, delivering AI-driven personalization

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience as a Software Engineer with backend focus
• Experience with Java, Python, or Go and solid OO/design skills
• Familiar with relational and non-relational databases and data modeling

Responsibilities

• Build and improve distributed data applications powering the segmentation platform
• Own features end to end from design through testing, deployment, and operation
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams to deliver high-quality software
• Understand data flows and impact on clients to ensure reliable system behavior
• Contribute to infrastructure and process improvements across the team
