Job summary

Torc Robotics, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer II for Fleet Enablement & Insights (Annotation Platform) to build and scale an in-house 2D/3D annotation tool for multi-sensor data in autonomous trucking.

You will contribute across frontend, backend, and data pipelines to support labeling workflows and ML training. You will work with TypeScript/React, Python, AWS, and Databricks, collaborating with ML, data engineering, and annotation teams.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React, with production-quality web apps.
• Proficiency in Python for backend services and APIs.
• Experience with large sensor datasets (point clouds, imagery) and performance-optimized UIs.
• Strong SQL proficiency and PostgreSQL experience for label, task, and metadata storage.
• Experience with AWS hosting and deployment of services.
• Git/GitHub for version control and collaboration.
• Familiarity with JIRA or similar project management tools.
• Solid understanding of CS fundamentals and software design.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the TypeScript/React web application for 2D/3D annotation.
• Build high-performance point cloud and image rendering with three.js/WebGL.
• Develop backend services for label storage, task assignment, and QA workflow.
• Integrate pre-labeling and pseudo-labeling into the workflow and measure throughput.
• Fuse HD map data into annotation workflows and priors for labeling.
• Create data converters and ingestion paths for multi-sensor data.
• Deliver dataset exports for ML training and validation with traceability.
• Leverage AWS and Databricks to host data and services.
• Collaborate with Data Annotation, Autonomy/ML, and Data Engineering teams.
