Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our Enterprise AI Products Value Stream in Hartford. You will design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions across the tech stack, collaborating with product owners, architects, and platform teams to translate business needs into production-ready AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Python with experience in JavaScript/TypeScript/Java.
• Hands-on AWS and/or Azure cloud services.
• Experience with containerization/orchestration tools including Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Experience designing and delivering agentic workflows, LLM integrations, or AI-powered automations.
• Demonstrated ability to work in agile, collaborative development environments.
• Strong communication skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver AI-powered solutions across varied engagement types.
• Leverage enterprise AI capabilities including LLMs, agentic workflows, cloud services, and Kubernetes.
• Lead application and solution design with architects, product owners, and LOB leads.
• Own delivery end to end from scoping to knowledge transfer.
• Engage LOB stakeholders to surface needs for AI roadmap and investments.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior engineers on the team.
• Demonstrate subject matter expertise across multiple technology disciplines.
• Perform analysis, assessment, and resolution for defects and incidents of advanced complexity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
