Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is hiring a Software Engineer II to join our Technology team in Hartford, CT. You will design, develop, test, and deploy complex software solutions across cloud environments, with emphasis on automation, health monitoring, and scalability.

You will mentor teammates, tackle well-scoped problems, and drive delivery with an agile mindset, ensuring solutions meet business needs and technical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
• Four years of programming/development experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and API development (REST/GraphQL).
• Familiarity with IaC (Terraform/AWS CDK) and CI/CD tools.
• Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and scripting languages.
• Knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and observability tools.
• Experience with AI enablement, LLM interactions, and prompt engineering.
• Familiarity with OAuth 2.0/OIDC and security basics.

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end software solutions with high accuracy and speed.
• Troubleshoot defects and incidents of advanced complexity.
