Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a software engineer to contribute to backend systems at scale, working with JavaScript/TypeScript on the frontend and Python or Kotlin on the backend.

You will collaborate with a global team, own parts of the codebase, and help balance speed and quality to protect production systems. This remote-first role offers US-based base pay ranges, equity, stipends, and comprehensive health coverage; candidates may be located across the United States and join onboarding in person

Qualifications

• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• Ability to turn a simple problem into a clear, well-tested, extensible solution.
• Comfort navigating a large codebase and providing feedback via code reviews.
• Demonstrated ownership of growth and seeking feedback from team and stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication for global collaboration.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
