Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a software engineer to join our remote-first team building backend systems and collaborating with frontend and data teams.

You will contribute to scalable services in JavaScript/TypeScript and Python or Kotlin, balancing speed with reliability, and participating in code reviews. We value ownership of your growth, strong communication, and the ability to navigate a large codebase while delivering well-tested, extensible code across multiple components.

Qualifications

• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale with Python or Kotlin.
• Ability to translate simple problems into multi-component solutions with well-tested, extensible code.
• Comfort navigating a large code base and providing feedback via code reviews.
• Ownership of growth and proactive feedback from team and stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication for collaboration with a global engineering team.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
