Job summary

Torc Robotics is seeking a Software Engineer I on the Metrics for Release team. You will help build cloud-based data pipelines that process telemetry and validation data, turning raw truck data into signals to evaluate readiness.

You’ll write Python services, analyze data, and support release validation through automated testing pipelines, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define meaningful KPIs and metrics for safe autonomous driving systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics or related field, with 0–4 years of experience (or Master’s).
• Strong programming experience in Python.
• Familiarity with data processing, pipelines, or large datasets.
• Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure, AWS services (S3, Lambda, ECS, Step Functions).
• Basic understanding of statistics, data analysis, or metric computation.
• Ability to analyze system behavior through data and logs.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to AWS-based data pipelines processing vehicle telemetry and validation data.
• Develop Python code and services for safety and performance metrics.
• Analyze truck data and translate into measurable system signals.
• Support release validation logic linked to automated testing pipelines.
• Collaborate with systems, validation, and autonomy teams to define KPIs and metrics.
• Investigate pipeline failures and telemetry anomalies using logs and datasets.
• Assist with statistical analysis and reporting for validation/testing data.
• Participate in code reviews to deliver reliable, maintainable software.
