Software Engineer – Front-End Developer

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico (Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Front-End Software Engineer to support the implementation and feature-level development of a large-scale ground system. This role is for engineers who excel at writing clean, maintainable code and executing against clearly defined requirements. This is a hands‑on development position focused on coding and implementation rather than system architecture or design.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement front‑end features based on defined system requirements and architectural designs.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain user‑facing components for a complex ground system.
• Collaborate with back‑end engineers, system architects, and integration teams to deliver cohesive functionality.
• Translate UI/UX designs and requirements into performant, testable code.
• Participate in feature‑level design discussions and code reviews.
• Contribute to incremental improvements, bug fixes, and enhancements.
• Support integration and testing activities as features are delivered.
• Work within Agile or hybrid development teams executing against established plans.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience with a focus on front‑end or full‑stack implementation. Strong experience with modern front‑end technologies and frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, similar). Proven ability to deliver feature‑based development in structured environments. Solid understanding of consuming APIs and integrating with back‑end services.

Education: A Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.

Additional Skills: Experience working from clearly defined requirements and designs. Comfortable operating in execution‑focused roles where coding is the primary responsibility. Ability to work collaboratively within a larger engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting large or complex systems.
• Prior work on government, aerospace, or defense programs.
• Familiarity with Agile development practices.
• Exposure to regulated development environments.
• Experience enhancing or refactoring existing codebases during implementation phases.
• Experience developing Frontend user interfaces using Astro UX.
• Experience with Java, C++, Python, JS frameworks (REACT, jQuery UI, Open Layers, etc.), Spring Framework, Hibernate, RDBMS, MongoDB, REST, and OpenAPI.
• Experience using dependency management and automation services (e.g., Ivy, Maven, Gradle, Git, Jenkins, etc.).
• Experience using cloud‑based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Familiarity with practices such as test‑driven development (TDD), agile software development, DevSecOps, and CI/CD management.
