Job summary

The Landline Company is seeking a Software Engineer to own the field software layer, including the driver app and handheld tools used by frontline staff. You will design offline-capable flows and integrate GPS, camera, and barcode/NFC scanning to create a real-time, auditable picture of operations.

Work on a modern stack with LLM-driven workflows, ship fixes weekly, and collaborate across booking, dispatch, and backend systems. Remote-ready with travel to stations as needed.

Qualifications

Experience building offline-first flows that stay reliable offline and sync later.
Strong web stack fluency in Next.js/Vercel and cross-stack work.
Experience integrating device capabilities (camera, NFC, GPS) and IoT/telemetry.
Familiarity with secure-by-design development in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

Own the field software layer: driver app and frontline tools.
Design robust flows for offline use and harsh field conditions.
Integrate device capabilities and GPS for verifiable field events.
Integrate IoT/telematics with real-time operation view.
Collaborate across booking, dispatch and backend to unify tools.
Advocate for agentic workflows and LLM-driven automation.
Deploy updates on a fast, weekly cycle with end users.
