Job summary

FreeWheel, a Comcast company, is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Buyercloud Ad Serving team. The role focuses on data-driven features, scaling distributed systems, and optimizing performance for billions of ad auctions daily.

You will collaborate across time zones, write documentation, and contribute to observability and on-call rotations. A Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field and 3+ years of software engineering with C++, Java, Go, and Linux are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Significant experience with compiled languages, such as C++, Java, Rust, and Go.
• A deep understanding of building systems at scale.
• Experience with optimizing performance, scaling and data modeling.
• Strong software architecture understanding.
• Experience working in a Linux ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data-driven and model-driven features for customers to execute campaigns effectively.
• Scale distributed applications and infrastructure to the next level.
• Optimize algorithms and software architectures to reduce cloud hosting costs.
• Support and extend the observability stack and handle on-call rotations.
