FreeWheel, a Comcast company, is hiring a Software Engineer to join the Buyercloud Ad Serving team in Virginia. The role focuses on building data- and model-driven features for our advertising platform that processes billions of auctions daily and supports a global customer base.

You will work across AWS, C++, Java, Go, and Kubernetes, scale complex systems, optimize performance and costs, and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Significant experience with compiled languages, such as C++, Java, Rust, and Go.
• A deep understanding of what it means to build systems at scale.
• Experience with optimizing performance, scaling and data modeling.
• A strong grasp of software architecture.
• Experience working in a Linux ecosystem.

Responsabilidades

• Design data-driven and model-driven features for customers to execute their marketing campaigns effectively.
• Scale distributed application and infrastructure to the next level.
• Optimize algorithms and software architectures to save cloud hosting costs.
• Support and extend the observability stack to capture and alert on issues.
• Participate in on-call rotations and be an escalation contact for service incidents.
• Write systems documentation, playbooks, and other instructional manuals.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
