Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to build and operate core backend services powering AI-driven experiences. You will collaborate with ML/AI, Product, and Front-End teams to deliver reliable, high-performance systems for both consumer and enterprise users.

The role focuses on infrastructure, development practices, and a strong technical foundation within a fast-moving product organization, with a remote-first setup in the United States.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of back-end development experience with strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and system design.
• Proven experience building, deploying, and debugging production systems at scale.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms such as GCP or Azure.
• Comfort with AI-powered systems and experience building backend services for AI products is a plus.
• Fluency with AI coding tools and an understanding of their impact on software development.
• Experience with real-time systems or high-throughput API design is advantageous.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD and infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer, Back-End to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space.

This role will focus on building and operating core backend services that power AI-driven experiences at scale. You will partner closely with ML/AI, Product, and Front-End teams to deliver reliable, high-performance systems for both consumer and enterprise users. The position also offers the opportunity to shape infrastructure, improve development practices, and contribute to the technical foundation of a fast-moving product organization.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 annually
