Job summary

General Motors in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking an early-career Software Engineer on the HIL Platform and Services team to help run, deploy, and test software on the next generation GM AV hardware.

You will work with teams across the AV organization to enable large-scale HIL validation, with mentorship for new graduates and exposure to ROS, real-time systems, and multi-language build tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in CS or related field; degree completed before joining GM.
• Strong systems fundamentals and coding in Python and/or C++.
• Experience in a Linux environment and collaboration in cross-functional teams.
• Ability to design high-performance software components for scalable systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication within a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop software to increase capabilities, fidelity, observability, and scale of the HIL platform and integration services.
• Build and extend services and tools for configuring, running, and debugging tests on HIL benches.
• Deliver reliable software through CI, automated testing, issue tracking, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with AV teams to translate validation needs into platform features.
• Deliver complex projects through incremental development with quality and reliability.
