Job summary

General Motors in Sunnyvale, CA, is seeking an early-career Software Engineer for the HIL Platform and Services team. You will help run, deploy, and test software on hardware-in-the-loop validation platforms, collaborating with AV teams to enable scalable testing and high-fidelity signals for AV performance validation.

You will work with Embodied AI, Middleware, OS, and Vehicle Integration teams while ramping on AV software, platform concepts, and internal HIL platforms.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, OS, or computer architecture.
• Solid coding abilities in Python and/or C++, demonstrated via coursework or projects.
• Experience developing in a Linux environment and collaborating in teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop software to increase the capabilities and scale of the HIL platform.
• Build and extend services and tools for configuring and debugging HIL tests.
• Deliver reliable software through CI, testing, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with multiple AV teams to translate validation needs into platform features.
• Deliver complex projects through incremental development while ensuring quality.
