Job summary

AssemblyAI, Inc. is seeking a software engineer to own the agent experience for our developer-focused platform. You will design and ship agent skills and tool definitions, enabling seamless integration with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and related technologies.

You will collaborate with senior engineers to ship production-grade integrations, measure outcomes, and scale the agent playbook across products while maintaining a bias toward shipping useful features for developers and end users alike.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience with solid full-stack fundamentals (JavaScript and/or Python).
• Hands-on experience using coding agents like Claude Code, Cursor or Codex and curiosity about success/failure drivers.
• Experience writing prompts, skills, tool definitions or agent instructions, at work or on side projects.

Responsibilities

• Own the agent experience end-to-end for AssemblyAI products.
• Build and maintain agent skills for core products (Speech-to-Text, Real-time, Dictation, Voice Agents, TTS, LLM Gateway).
• Develop MCP server integrations and actor prompts to enable first-call production integrations.
