Job summary

AssemblyAI, Inc. in Los Angeles, CA seeks a software engineer to own the agent experience for developer-facing products. You will design and ship coding agents, prompts, and integrations, collaborating with senior engineers to scale the AX domain.

You will measure success with evals, optimize prompts and docs, and help scale the playbook across products while leveraging AI tools to accelerate development.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience with JS/Python.
• Hands-on use of coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex.
• Experience writing prompts, skills, tool definitions, or agent instructions.
• Product sense for developer-facing work and strong technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Drive the agent experience as a first-class developer user.
• Build and maintain agent skills for core products (Speech-to-Text, Real-time, Dictation, Voice Agents, TTS).
• Extend MCP server, ship agent and MCP auth (OAuth and API keys).
• Create llms.txt, docs, quickstarts and SDK examples for agent use.
• Tune prompts and instructions powering in-dashboard agent onboarding.
