Job summary

AssemblyAI is seeking an empowered AX engineer to own how AI agents build with AssemblyAI, shaping skills, prompts, MCP server, code samples, docs and integrations an agent reads when a developer asks to add transcription to an app.

You’ll work closely with senior engineers on our Product Engineering team, with real ownership from day one and room to grow as AX scales with the product.

Qualifications

• Daily, hands-on use of coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex.
• Experience writing prompts, skills, tool definitions or agent instructions.
• Product sense for developer-facing work and ensuring real integrations.

Responsibilities

• Drive the agent experience as a first-class user.
• Build and maintain agent skills for core products.
• Extend the MCP server and agent integrations for easy plug-in.
• Ensure docs and code samples are agent-ready for first-time use.
• Tune prompts and instructions powering in-dashboard agent flows.
• Create evals and benchmarks to measure agent performance.
• Scale the playbook across products.
• Use AI tools to accelerate engineering work with agents.
