Job summary

AssemblyAI, Inc. is seeking a software engineer to own the agent experience for coding agents. You will work with Claude Code, Cursor and Codex, and extend our MCP server and agent integrations to support our products.

You’ll produce developer-facing docs, samples, and clear prompts to ensure seamless integration by developers. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers on our Product Engineering team from day one and gain ownership as the AX area scales.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong full-stack fundamentals with JavaScript and/or Python.
• Experience writing prompts, skills, tool definitions, or agent instructions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive the agent experience for coding agents as a top user.
• Build and maintain agent skills for core products like Speech-to-Text and TTS.
• Extend the MCP server and agent integrations to plug into tools.
• Make docs and code samples agent-ready with clear guidance.
• Tune prompts and instructions powering agent onboarding flows.
• Measure success with evals and benchmarks for agent-driven tasks.
• Help scale the playbook across products and teams.
• Use AI tools to accelerate engineering work and enable faster development.
